How to get car hauler careers

With the job situation these days, many are searching elsewhere for a job. If you are not that choosy with regards to jobs then you will probably land with one anytime soon. If you enjoy driving, you might consider being a car hauler. What is that exactly?

Some people want their cars move from their location to somewhere else. They don't want to drive. For this, people look for car haulers to take their vehicle to any point or location they would want. They might purchase some automobiles at an auction, and want them delivered elsewhere. Car dealers at the same time would require someone to bring their sold cars to their customers place. If you have the qualifications, and the equipment, you can haul cars, and even boats and smaller items such as skidoo's.

Getting into the business

The majority of transport agencies require a hauler with good experience with the said job. You are hauling their equipment, and they want reliability.

Of course, the right equipment is also something that you will need. You can simply use bigger trucks or trailers for bigger number of vehicles to be hauled. One good truck is the Ford F450 which can pretty much carry a load of 25,000 pounds. This can easily contain the weight of three cars. Among those commonly used hauling trucks is the Dodge RAM 3500 which is pretty much built to carry heavy loads as well.

You're going to need a quality trailer. You should have at least 3 axles and a fifth wheel. You will need a hitch that is good enough to tow a weight of 23,000 pounds.

You need to consider the type of hauling you're going to do. Those in the business say no more than 500 miles per haul. Anything more than that, and you're putting too much stress on your vehicle.

So what is the usual pay for such job? You can make close to $300 per car, if you haul three cars. If you haul 3 cars in a day then that would earn you $900 and a gross of $200 to $300 a day.

You're going to need insurance, so shop around for that, as rates vary.

Make sure before you get all lined up, that you already have a client base. You can find numerous ways to acquiring this. Among those ways is to look up for car hauling jobs online at US HIP.

Last but not the least, safety should also be something that you consider. Keep an eye for those traffic signals and maintain a safe distance from other cars on the road to avoid accidents. Keep in mind those distances will be longer because you're hauling more weight. Furthermore, you need to mind every turn you make since it won't be easy considering the size of your vehicle and the load that you are carrying.
